OEM Part#: 62 11 23 204
Warranty: 3 YEARS
WHEN YOU INSTALL, BE SURE THAT THE PART HAS FULL
CONNECTION TO THE CONNECTOR CABLE. YOU NEED TO HEAR THE 'CLICK' SOUND.
THE METAL PRONGS ATTACHED TO OEM IS ELIMINATED BY USING THE NEW TECHNOLOGY.
SO YOU DO NOT NEED METAL PRONGS WITH OUR FSU
This is a brand new BMW Blower Motor Resistor/Regulator (Final Stage Unit - FSU)
with the new technology which eliminates the cooler section (metal prongs) of
the part on our cars. Before we redesigned and made this part, we had to
replace the OEM part several times. Then we thought that there should be a
better solution to this problem. Now our BMWs have been using our own BPSX
parts for several years without any problem.
The part has been designed to meet and exceed the OEM specs and tested and
showed much better performance than the current OEM part with the cooler. Our
part is based on military specs which is higher than automotive specs. Almost
90% of the electronic parts we used on this product are made in USA with
reputable US brands such as Texas Instruments etc. We do not need to mention
that the BPSX FSU is and will be made in USA. Here are the some advantages of
this part over the current OEM part:
- Runs cooler so it does not heat air in summer (based on our
tests of our product vs. others, when we provide 13 volt from the battery, BPSX
FSU outputs 12.80 volt - very minimal loss. On the other hand, OEM part outputs
12.05 volt and Behr part outputs 12.30 volt. That means BPSX FSU outperforms
the rest by far.
Both OEM and Behr become defective at 20A whereas BPSX FSU never
gets defective above 30A. This is important because FSU is connected to a 30A
fuse which is a protection above 30A.
At high speeds, both OEM and Behr get really hot (above 200F)
whereas BPSX FSU stays around 80F (Tested at room temperature)
- Uses less power for the same blow rate due to regenerative technology and
power is not lost in heat (BPSX FSU uses only 3A whereas Behr
product uses 5A at 6.8V)
- Cooler working environment provides longer life. The commonly available parts
with metal prongs has severe heating problem which causes to fail prematurely.
- Easier to install since it does not have the metal parts or heat sink
- Lower price and shipping cost due to simpler design to manufacture and light
weight to ship
BMW OEM Part# for this part revised several times. The most recent numbers
are:
64 11 6 923 204
64 11 6 920 365
64 11 6 929 540
BEFORE YOU INSTALL THE PART, PLEASE BE SURE THAT YOUR
BLOWER MOTOR IS NOT IN BAD SHAPE AND YOU HAVE THE RIGHT FUSE FOR YOUR BLOWER.
SOMETIMES PEOPLE OR REPAIR SHOPS INCREASES THE FUSE CAPACITY SO THAT THE FAULTY
BLOWER MOTOR WOULD KEEP RUNNING. HOWEVER THAT CAUSES THE FSU TO GET OVERLOADED
WITH THE CURRENT WHICH LEADS TO A DEFECTIVE FSU, AND/OR DANGEROUSLY HOT
WIRES. JUST A LITTLE REMINDER.
PLEASE REPLACE YOUR FUSE WITH 20AMPS FUSE, SO IF THE
BLOWER GOES BAD, YOUR FSU STAYS WORKING.
